Beyond the screen

Screens reduce art to pixels. Walls limit it to what fits. Either way — scale, depth, and presence disappear. What was meant to be experienced becomes something to scroll.

Frequently Asked Questions

DO XR is an immersive exhibition platform for Meta Quest that enables artists, galleries, and curators to present artworks in spatial environments. Visitors can experience artworks at true-to-life scale in virtual exhibitions or place them directly into their own physical surroundings using mixed reality. Artists can showcase individual works, create curated collections, host private viewing rooms, or participate in public exhibitions available through the DO XR app.
An XR-ready artwork is one that has been enabled for immersive viewing in DO XR. Once XR is enabled, visitors can experience the artwork in AR or VR at gallery scale, explore fine details up close, access contextual information about the work and artist, and include the artwork in private viewing experiences.
DO XR supports high-resolution images (JPEG, PNG, TIFF), video artworks (MP4, MOV), and 3D objects and sculptures (GLB, OBJ). All supported formats can be experienced in immersive AR and VR environments.
Yes. Artists, galleries, and curators with an active Digital Original subscription can create XR collections by grouping multiple artworks into a single immersive experience. Collections can be shared publicly or kept private and accessed through a unique room code. They can be used for virtual exhibitions, private previews, collector presentations, educational events, or guided tours.
Our curatorial team regularly reviews XR-ready artworks and collections published on DO XR. Artists and galleries whose work demonstrates strong artistic quality, presentation, and exhibition potential may be invited to feature their content in public DO XR exhibition spaces. To be considered, make sure your artworks are XR-ready and include complete descriptions and supporting information.
Visitors can access XR-ready artworks and collections by scanning a QR code associated with the artwork, through a direct artwork or collection link, by entering a private room code, or through featured public exhibitions available in the DO XR app.
Yes. Artists and galleries can invite visitors into shared virtual spaces to experience exhibitions together. Participants can discuss artworks in real time, attend guided tours, host collector previews, educational sessions, artist talks, and other interactive events within the exhibition environment.
Yes. DO XR allows galleries and artists to extend physical exhibitions beyond the limitations of available wall space. Visitors can use a Meta Quest headset on-site to explore additional artworks, digital installations, video works, or entire curated collections that may not be physically displayed. Artists can also join remotely, engage with visitors, and provide live insights about their work.
No. Anyone with access to an XR-ready artwork, collection, exhibition link, QR code, or room code can experience the work in DO XR. The platform is designed to make discovering, exploring, and sharing art more accessible through immersive technology.
